Almost 200 refugees die while crossing Mediterranean Sea
As per as recent news from United Nation Refugee Agency, almost 200 people have died while crossing the Mediterranean Sea near Libya.
The report from the UN Refugee Agency explains that each year thousands of people die while crossing the sea and this year the count has reached more than 4000. But last year, it was very low as compared to this year.
Seeing the recent incident in which around 200 people died, the ships weren’t very far from the shore when this tragic incident happen.
As per as latest report, only 29 people are rescued by the rescuing team.
In starting of 2016, UN had warned the refugees about the danger of crossing sea this year but it doesn’t seem that people have taken this seriously.
However, more than 300,000 refugees have crossed the sew safely.
Seeing 2015 stats, more than 100,000 people travelled across the sea and only 1000 people died in such accidents.
Now, as per as report submitted by Carlotta Sami, there were only small ships for loading people from one end to another. And in this case, 140 people were aboard in each ship, including children and women.
Total 29 people only managed to save by the rescuing team and almost 12 dead bodies have also been taken out.
Unfortunately, there is no any proper explanations what causing such accidents. Few people suggest about technical faults in their ship as cause while few other groups suggested that due the bad weather it all happened.
